Why are quite a lot of european couples deciding to get married in CapeTown ?
South Africa has a very special fascination for European travellers. People are coming to visit a vast variety of landscapes, but also enjoy the friendly and always smiling people here. So it is easy to think of a relaxed and wonderful wedding to take place in CapeTown.
Sometimes the reason are nice memories of a wonderful holiday and now it is time to fill the joy also with a romantic elopement. Or holidayers have seen all South Africa and want to discover now a bit more of CapeTown. So combine it with 2 or 3 days for your wedding. It also can be the starting point into a joyful honeymoon, meaning to start with a wedding and then travel into the country as a freshly married couple.
It also happens that the “big question” has been made a year ago in CapeTown and now it follows the “big saying yes”. That is what Michela and Jan just told me. For Sabine and Thilo their wedding was a reunite with lots of beloved people and friends as the bride had already worked in CapeTown for a year some time ago. As well Miriam was involved in social projects here during her university time and has shown all her memorable places to her husband. That made it easy for both of them to decide for their wedding party being hold in the southern part of the Cape.
At the contrary, Antje and Mirko had their first visit to South Africa and their wedding on the beach was the highlight at the end of their trip. Enjoying this special moment with their best friends who were nonetheless equally excited about the marriage emotions.
Jenny told me about her long stays in Namibia and this created her wish to get married in South Africa. Whereas Ludwig has his father living near CapeTown, often he was here with Julia to visit him. And when Ludwig proposed to his beloved wife, both said immediately they imagine their wedding only in CapeTown.
I think I have heard so many more interesting stories and I love to hear each single and individual decision why bride and groom choose CapeTown as their wedding place. Most probably I will still be in my business as a wedding planner for some more years and I am delighted by this idea. Also me, I confirm to be in love with this country, with its culture, with its landscapes, with the various people here in CapeTown. This active city is inventing itself every single day !
Looking forward to see much more couples for the next wedding season, happy greetings from Britta, Creative Wedding South Africa
